It All Started with a Spontaneous & Contagious Smile

Ms. Carol Woods showed symptoms of ALS in 2014 and has been on a ventilator since 2017. Today she is a quadriplegic, on a feeding tube for nutrition and is unable to speak. But one thing she does well – is give you a HUGE smile. It’s contagious. We love her for that. It’s always been a part of her personality.

This photo shows her spontaneous excitement as she sees both of us wearing two of my-style caps in this selfie. Seeing Carol’s smile made me smile. This sparked the idea of starting the Smile Contagion with something special – a pALS Cap.

Smiles for pALS. One Cap at a Time.
